Annotations:
Steal this talk
I like to give talks. Tragedy has hit for the past year and I haven't been able to come up with anything interesting to speak about. I had almost given up, thrown in the towel. But then I had an idea...I will build an app that will write a talk for me! It's been a long journey building "Talkie", but in the process, I've consumed 100's of Golang talks from over the last years and I want to boil them down to the best things I can fit into a half hour. We can also see how far I've come with the app. (Hint: AI is hard)
Aaron Cruz
Aaron Cruz is a food lover who speaks about Ruby, Go and Elixir at conferences and meetups around the world. For his real job, he builds chatbots for forward-thinking companies who want to reach new customers in interesting ways.
Instrumenting Go applications with Prometheus
In this workshop, we will demonstrate how developers can export monitoring metrics from their code and capture it in Prometheus. We will build upon a simple web application, using Go client APIs to track events in the code, while introducing the fundamentals of application monitoring and the Prometheus data-fetching model. Participants of the workshop will learn how to add monitoring to their own applications, and how to query and interpret the resulting data.
Participants should have a laptop, with a Go development environment set up, and Docker installed.

As a self-taught/ community taught developer she is thankful to the local tech communities who supported her in making the move into IT. She organizes events to support other women in making the move into tech.
