AI/ML methods in protein engineering and research in pharma​ industry

While ChatGPT and large language models, in general, have taken the world by storm, the next revolution will be applying similar algorithms to biological data. This will enable the creation of completely new medications, enzymes, and maybe even fibers.
Leonidas Lundell, Data Science Team Lead for Animal Health IT, will walk you through the key algorithms and breakthroughs in disease prediction, structure prediction, and protein generation.
Among other things, we will discuss the protein prediction algorithm AlphaFold, the protein generation algorithm RFdiffusion, and the protein language model Evolutionary Scale Modelling, which has been created by Meta.
